HSBC New Zealand Launches First Credit Card
HSBC announced today that it is to offer American Express Gold and Platinum cards to its customers from 5 May 2006.
Norman Wilson, CEO of HSBC in New Zealand said that HSBC is very happy to be able to deliver a premium credit card proposition to its customers through its partnership with American Express.
“Partnering with such a first-class provider to deliver our first credit card to our New Zealand customers is a demonstration of our commitment to provide great products and service to our customers. Both organisations, with a global presence, are able to bring the best of the world to HSBC’s New Zealand customers.”
“We have worked closely together to design and deliver Cards that reflect HSBC’s positioning as “The World’s Local Bank”. The look is iconic, featuring a stylised fern image, but there is a compelling value to the Cards as well.”
Rob Hennin, American Express Country Manager – New Zealand, said American Express was delighted to partner with HSBC in providing premium card solutions for the bank’s best clients.
“The loyalty programmes associated with our Card products – whether Gold or Platinum – are second to none and of particular value to financially savvy Card users. Also built into the product offering are substantial benefits on Card enrolment.”
“The fit is very good as both brands have built their reputations on the service offered to their customers. We are confident that the status and value of our premium Gold and Platinum Cards will find a welcome home with the customers of HSBC.”
