MEDIA RELEASE – April 2006
Lifestyle - Urbanboheme Reaches NZ
This April, urbanboheme launched it's essential guide to Auckland www.urbanboheme.co.nz . The new directory marks the
first major international expansion of Australia’s definitive women’s lifestyle directory.
Sixteen months ago, urbanboheme established itself in Sydney as the online community and resource for urban-professional
women. This was followed, last November, by the edition of a comprehensive guide to Melbourne. Since then, founder Clare
Hamilton has tailored the website to capture the dynamic differences and synergies between these unique cultural
centres.
The Auckland Directory is the site’s response to the movements of the urbanboheme audience and a step towards the
realization of a global network. As women travel more frequently for business, shopping and cultural pursuits, the need
for a focused online resource that supplements the gap in local knowledge has grown. Urbanboheme’s expansion recognizes
the increased traffic between Australia and New Zealand, and offers information to enable a more engaged experience of
other cities.
But urbanboheme is more than just a directory. It is itself a lifestyle. urbanbohemians are creative, discerning women
living and working in the major cities, but always moving and travelling. The website continues to be a hub for these
women, providing information on where to find premium and boutique lifestyle products and services, in a form that is
selective, interesting and accessible.
Like its Australian counterparts, urbanboheme’s Auckland website features a unique directory of local products and
services across seven lifestyle categories including: fashion, design, food, travel, art, health and business.
Director Clare Hamilton comments, “Once again we have looked to our members for recommendations of companies they
genuinely respect, and for credible businesses they would recommend to their friends. We aim to collaborate with
companies of quality and integrity, with products and services of an exceptional standard, and whose ethos reflects our
own.”
“Globally, there are many women who desire quality and integrity in all areas of their life, but don’t necessarily have
the time to search to achieve this ideal.”
Urbanboheme is an online space where women from around the world can share the best of their own cities. London is the
next city on this global agenda.
