Union starts bargaining for new collective agreement at Inland Revenue Department
The Public Service Association today starts bargaining for a new Collective Agreement covering over 2,500 union members
employed at Inland Revenue Department offices throughout New Zealand.
"We are seeking a collective agreement that further promotes work/life balance, public service careers and includes a
commitment to pay and employment equity for women within the department," said Richard Wagstaff, PSA National Secretary.
The PSA represents over 52,000 public service workers in central and local government, the health sector and in
community services.
"The union will also be advocating for a fair and transparent pay system within the Inland Revenue Department that
recognises the important role of the union in determining pay levels," said Richard Wagstaff.
The PSA will be seeking an update to the Partnership for Quality agreement between the PSA and IRD which recognises the
contribution of union members to the successful operation of the department.
The negotiations start today with a view to being completed by the end of May. The PSA negotiating team includes union
delegates from the department's offices throughout the country.
