Orcon Internet acquires WISE Net
Orcon Internet Ltd is pleased to announce that Masterton based ISP WISE Net has joined the Orcon group through a recent acquisition. There are some wonderful synergies between Orcon and WISE Net, with Orcon General Manager of Operations and Regulatory Affairs Scott Bartlett saying "the purchase will add significant value to Orcon's rural operations".
"WISE Net is a fantastic business that has been the only ISP based in the Wairarapa for some time. Coupled with an excellent team and outstanding customer service, WISE Net has grown from humble beginnings to one of the largest provincial ISPs in New Zealand" said Bartlett.
WISE Net and Orcon are a natural fit, with both organisations customer focused and looking to extend their provincial and rural presence. In addition to WISE Net's local wireless network, new services such as satellite broadband and 3.5Mbit DSL are being added to the WISE Net product set.
"Orcon and WISE Net are passionate about providing the complete range of internet services to locals and local businesses, with new products like web development really taking off in the Wairarapa region" continued Bartlett.
WISE Net was formally owned by FX Networks director Derek Locke, and is run by Jeremy Bradley. Mr. Bradley will continue to lead the team of six in Masterton.
