Kiwis Search For Clothes, Satellites & Hamilton Houses
After three months as NZ’s most searched for item, Apple’s ipod has been replaced by Pumpkin Patch & Roxy clothing, Hamilton houses and a misplaced Optus B 1 Satellite.
The March 2006 search figures from Trade Me reflect a recent humorous auction for the Sky Satellite, along with the growth of house listings on Trade Me.
Clothing was a major theme for Trade Me users with four different fashion labels being in the top 10 most searched for items. Meanwhile the top four cars sought-after on Trade Me were Escort, Mazda RX7 and Mitsubishi Evo.
Also popular were the tickets for the postponed U2 concert with over 50,000 searches for the tightly held items.
Kiwi designer Karen Walker has dropped to eighth place with 39,408 searches and French designer Louis Vuitton dropped to 19th place with 26,608.
The full list of the top 20 search items for March 2006 is listed below. The latest Nielsen / NetRatings figures show Trade Me had over 2.5 million unique visitors in March 2006.
