NZ Rugby Union withdraws part of authorisation application
On 30 March 2006 the New Zealand Rugby Union withdrew its request for authorisation of the proposed arrangements applying to the Modified Division One inter-provincial rugby competition, as set out in paragraphs 2.8 and 2.9 of its application to the Commission.
The NZRU advises that it intends to make a new application in respect of the proposed MD1 arrangements, with possible modifications resulting from a reconsideration process, to be submitted for authorisation by the Commission at a later date.
The Commission has called for submissions on its Draft Determination, including its preliminary view that the arrangements relating to the Premier Division and MD1 could be treated separately, to be provided by 3 April 2006.
After reviewing the submissions, the Commission will reach a view on the effect of this withdrawal on the application for authorisation of the remaining arrangements.
If parties wish to comment on how the withdrawal of the application in respect of the proposed MD1 arrangements affects any other aspect of the application, they should do so in writing by 10 April 2006.
