Air New Zealand introduces new service links with Nelson
Air New Zealand will introduce services on two new routes linking Nelson directly with Hamilton and Palmerston North on weekdays and Sundays, effective 26 April.
The non-stop services will be operated by Air New Zealand Link airline, Eagle Air using a 19 seat Beech1900 aircraft.
General Manager, NZ Region Sales, Roger Poulton said Air New Zealand had decided to expand its Nelson services in order to better serve the growing business market.
“Nelson is well-served by Air Nelson with regular flights to key city ports of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, and frequent connections to other domestic destinations. However, in recent years Air New Zealand has been aware that direct (non-stop) access to certain destinations at prime times could better serve the growing business market in Nelson,” said Mr Poulton.
“We will be assessing the market response in a few months but are anticipating that in particular, the early morning and evening services Nelson - Hamilton will prove popular for business travellers,” he said.
