50% of Kiwis would share internet banking password with partner
Would you share your internet banking password with your significant other?
Apparently, New Zealanders are divided on this 21st Century security issue. Fifty percent said they would not divulge their password to their partner, and the other half said they would, according to New Zealand’s first Adult Financial Knowledge Survey.
Seventeen percent said they would tell a bank staff member their bank password if asked to do so and four percent would share it with friends.
Internet banking users are advised to safeguard their passwords and not disclose them to anyone.
The ANZ-Retirement Commission Financial Knowledge Survey measured levels of financial knowledge among adult New Zealanders including mathematical skills and everyday financial and money-related understanding and competence.
Eight hundred and fifty-six respondents were interviewed and the margin of error was +/- 3.35%.
