Prestigious NZIM Fellowship for Top Harcourts Business Owner
Robert McCormack, Managing Director of Harcourts Grenadier, has been awarded a prestigious New Zealand Institute of
Management Fellowship (NZIM) in recognising long-term business excellence.
A leading Harcourts Business Owner, Mr McCormack was one of only 10 fellowship recipients in 2005 which requires a
proven record of over a decade of top level managerial responsibility and being recognised in the community as a leader
with several outstanding career achievements.
Also a Harcourts Hall of Fame member, Mr McCormack has owned a Harcourts franchise for just on 15 years. Renowned for
his innovation and drive, Mr McCormack had one of the first Harcourts offices to support commercial, auction and
business brokerage divisions, along with residential.
Mr McCormack has been instrumental in not only growing the Harcourts brand in Christchurch, but throughout Australasia.
With Harcourts Christchurch City the largest single office in Harcourts’ group of over 360 offices Australasian and
Pacific-wide, Mr McCormack’s operation is recognised as an example of business excellence for the group.
Harcourts Grenadier’s group of seven offices has also been consistent award winners over many years, and is home to
leading individuals including Harcourts’ Number Two and Number Three Sales Consultants out of 1,850 nationwide, Alison
Aitken (Christchurch City) and Alison Carter (Ferrymead), and the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand’s Top Auctioneer,
Roger Dawson.
Mr McCormack said, “It’s all about surrounding yourself with good people and letting them grow, as people are the key to
what makes you successful in real estate and life. For me it comes down to seven personal keys to success: attitude,
energy, enthusiasm, commitment, dedication, focus and passion. I love the people I work with and surround myself with
people I love.”
Harcourts New Zealand, CEO, Bryan Thomson, said, “Robert McCormack is an inspirational New Zealander and sets an example
for building business success not just for other members of the Harcourts Group but across any competitive business
environment. Real estate is an unforgiving industry where success depends on an ability to recruit, develop and retain
outstanding individuals which Robert has always been hugely successful in providing an example we are very proud to
claim as part of our group.”
