New Zealand Woman’s Weekly grows circulation
New Zealand’s most popular magazine, the New Zealand Woman’s Weekly, posted circulation growth of 1.54 percent to 102,121 in the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) results for 2005.
The 74-year old title is already the country’s most read magazine with a Nielsen Media Research total of 950,000.
Acting CEO and publisher Rick Neville said the magazine was poised for further growth with the recent appointment of Sido Kitchin from the Seven Network in Melbourne as editor.
Ms Kitchin is a former deputy editor of the New Zealand Woman’s Weekly and NZ Woman’s Day.
New Zealand Magazines’ other titles also fared well in the latest circulation audits.
The NZ Listener dominated the current affairs category with an audited sale of 73,044, slightly up on the six-month period and down 3.06 percent in a 12-months comparison.
The teen title, Creme, boosted circulation 14 percent to 12,835, year-on-year, and 10 percent in the six months since July. Creme was acquired by APN in May 2005.
