Travel Industry E-marketing Network Tops One Million Viewers
More than 1.2 million online video viewers used PREVU Corporation’s travel industry e-marketing network during the 12 months to 31 Jan 2006, according to annual figures released by the New Zealand born company this week, as it seeks $1 million in development capital to fund the next stage in establishing its global coverage.
PREVU Corporation entered into a strategic alliance with Florida-based ICE Portal last year. ICE Portal is the leading US-based producer and distributor of multi-media content for the travel industry. Its content is used by some of the world’s leading online travel brands including Orbitz, CheapTickets.com, Priceline, Pleasant Holidays, Lastminute, Mark Travel and World Choice Travel.
PREVU managing director, Peter Tanner explained: ` We are now looking for investors to help us take the next step in establishing the travel industry’s first global streaming media e-marketing network. Not only has the alliance helped us break through the one million mark, looking at the performance of the PREVU distributors the number one slot has gone to one of our alliance distributors, World Choice Travel, which had over 4,300 video views in December. We expect our video views to grow rapidly over the next few months as more of the US-based operators pick up on the PREVU content.’
Market research carried out by PREVU and the Outrigger Hotel group in Hawaii found that 78 per cent of respondents preferred to see multi-media rather than photographs, 68 per cent found PREVU online such a positive experience that they booked an Outrigger hotel; and over half said from seeing the PREVU video they would book direct with the hotel via the net or by phone.
Peter Tanner commented: `This shows the power and pull through that videos have on-line, creating extra traffic and extra gross profit. Through the PREVU ICE network of websites, our Asia Pacific hotel partners have access to a unique marketing system. Equally exciting, our Asia Pacific distributors have access to virtual tours and video clips from suppliers in the USA, Mexico and the Caribbean. The combined database of rich media content is the largest of its kind in the world.’
About the PREVU Corporation Since its beginnings in 1992 the business has grown into Asia Pacific’s largest multimedia specialist providing online media solutions for travel industry customers around the globe. PREVU Corporation specialises in enhancing websites with the use of its multimedia products. Its extensive global distribution arm offers tourism operators a unique one stop solution for production, hosting and distribution services.
