Final Call for AGM Remits
Meat & Wool New Zealand is inviting levy payer comment on key issues in New Zealand's red meat and wool industries for
discussion at its March Annual General Meeting.
This year's AGM will be held at Poukawa Research Farm, in Hawke's Bay on Wednesday, March 15th 2006.
Livestock farmers who want to propose remits are invited to submit their comments by Wednesday 18th January 2006 on the
official form, says Board Secretary Androula Dometakis.
All remits, other than those that could be binding on the company, require 10 signatures of levy payers who are
registered on the Meat & Wool New Zealand electoral roll. Remits will be included with voting documents that will be sent to farmers in early
February.
To register, levy payers must fill out and return a voter registration form by Friday 10th February 2006 and this can be
obtained from the Election Hotline 0508-666-336. Registration also gives levy payers the right to vote in the Director
elections held in their electoral district.
Two positions on the Board will be contested in the March 10th election, Northern North Island and Northern South
Island. Nominations for Directors close at 5pm, 18th January 2006.
Voters in the two electoral districts are encouraged to check that they are on the electoral roll. To be eligible to
vote, a livestock farmer must have owned at least 250 sheep or goats or a combined total of these, or 50 beef cattle or
100 dairy cattle, on June 30th 2005.
Voter registration and remit forms and other information about the elections and remit process are available from
Returning Officer Warwick Lampp on the Election Hotline - 0508-666-336.
