Linda Clark is to leave National Radio’s Nine To Noon programme in March after presenting the high profile show for almost four years.
The announcement was made today in a joint statement from Radio New Zealand and Linda Clark.
Linda Clark has hosted Nine to Noon, New Zealand’s leading current affairs radio programme, since July 2002. In announcing her decision to leave the show Linda Clark indicated that she would be considering new options and new directions.
“Nine to Noon has been a fantastic show to host as it provides such a wonderfully intimate connection with the listeners. I greatly value and appreciate my time with the programme but it’s time to do something else with my life ”.
Commenting on the announcement, Radio New Zealand Acting Chief Executive, Ken Law, acknowledged the contribution that Linda Clark has made during her time with National Radio.
“ Linda has had a very successful time with Nine to Noon. The programme has grown in terms of content and impact over the past four years and continues to be one of the most listened to radio programmes in the country. Linda has devoted an extraordinary amount of time and energy to maintaining its iconic status in New Zealand media. She leaves with our sincere gratitude for the great work she has done …and our very best wishes for her future endeavours. “
Linda Clark’s last day on air will be Friday 3rd March.
Radio New Zealand will seek indications of interest from qualified broadcasters for the high profile role on National Radio and will make any announcements relating to a new presenter for Nine to Noon in due course.
Note:
Radio New Zealand has previously announced that former TVNZ and BBC presenter, Anita McNaught, will make a guest appearance as host on Nine to Noon when the programme returns on January 23rd. McNaught, a regular contributor to Nine to Noon from London, will be in New Zealand and will present the programme until Linda Clark returns from holiday on January 30th.
