PRESS RELEASE
Monday 12 December, 2005 – Newly opened Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa offers a luxury experience for families where parents can indulge themselves in a true five star resort experience whilst the kids are taken care of at the onsite ‘Turtle Club’.
Catering for children aged between two to twelve years old, the ‘Turtle Club’ is open from 9.00am to 9.00pm daily and presents a vast array of indoor and outdoor activities and events to keep junior guests entertained.
Turtle Club activities have been carefully planned to provide a cultural experience for children as well as other holiday activities.
Director of Sales & Marketing, Kerrie Hannaford says that Turtle Club aims to provide junior guests with a high quality resort experience that is both fun and rewarding. “We hope that the kids can also take out something of the unique and charming Fijian culture from their holiday which will all be part of the Turtle Club experience”.
A sample of these activities include;
- ‘Meke’ lessons – the art of traditional Fijian Dancing
- Coconut Tree basket weaving
- Clay pot art
- Tapa printing
- Shell collecting and beach treasure jewellery workshops
- Face painting and traditional dress up games
- ‘Pani’ – a popular Fijian children’s game…plus lots more.
An exciting ‘Turtle Menu’ has also been created by the culinary team at Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa and features kids favourites that are both fun and nutritious. The menu also caters for special dietary needs in the form of gluten free, low calorie and vegetarian options.
“With so much in the way of resort offerings, we wanted to give our guests as much flexibility as possible” says Hannaford, and that means giving parents the chance for a little time out to indulge in a spa treatment or try a new activity knowing that their children will be well cared for and having just as much fun.
Sofitel Resort & Spa is nestled beachside on 26 acres of lush tropical landscaped gardens, just 20 minutes by car from Nadi International Airport on Denarau Island. The resort is the island’s first new international resort in 20 years bordered by an expansive, lagoon style free-form pool and for beach lovers boasts a stunning new white sandy beach, exclusive to resort guests.
