Interislander helps more families get away this Christmas
Interislander is helping more families cross Cook Strait this holiday season by opening up three freight-only sailings to passengers in the lead-up to Christmas.
The additional sailings will run at 8pm on 21, 22 and 23 December and are available to people travelling with vehicles.
Interislander's General Manager Passenger Services and Hospitality, Martin Weekes, says it's important for the company to be able to accommodate the needs of people over this busy time.
"We're heavily booked during the Christmas period and are pleased to open up the freight-only sailings on Kaitaki to the general public so more families can make the most of their holidays."
There has been so much demand for extra sailings that Interislander has increased the number of onboard services staff and vehicle capacity.
In conjunction with extra sailings, Interislander is providing children's entertainment from 20 December to 20 January. Magicians Terry Dixon, Reuben King and Mike Coxon will be entertaining families onboard and working across the fleet.
