New Business NZ President
Christchurch businessman Stephen Collins was elected President of Business NZ at the organisation's Annual General Meeting today.
Mr Collins is Chairman of Harcourts International Ltd and was until recently President of the Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce.
Mr Collins said he looked forward to working closely with Chief Executive Phil O'Reilly in championing a successful New Zealand through sustainable market-led growth.
"Member enterprises seek an improved environment for business, and Business NZ will continue its focus on positive, apolitical solutions to current business issues," Mr Collins said.
Business NZ Chief Executive Phil O'Reilly said the organisation remained in great heart and was focused on a number of new initiatives related to overseas trade, manufacturing, productivity and other issues.
Rodger Kerr-Newell (New Plymouth) and Colin Martin (Auckland) were elected Business NZ Vice Presidents.
