Growth at Hyundai sparks executive changes
Quentin Drain has been appointed Brand Manager for Hyundai cars as the marque expands rapidly in New Zealand.
Mr Drain will control marketing of the fast-evolving South Korean brand, after assisting in sales and marketing for the
past three years.
This follows the elevation of Philip Eustace to Managing Director and former Sales and Marketing Manager Howard Spencer
to General Manager Operations, at Hyundai Automotive New Zealand.
Mr Spencer’s former role has been split and a Sales Manager will be appointed.
“With sales doubling over the past two or three years, and marketing expanding in tandem, together with our planned
growth over the coming years, it was no longer possible for one person to handle both functions,” explained Philip
Eustace, Managing Director of the company.
“Quentin will control the significant investment we are making in the marketing of the Hyundai brand.
“He is a talented young man who is an integral part of our marketing success and he is poised to continue Hyundai’s fast
rise as a mainstream brand in this country.
Fuelled by the success of world-class vehicles like Getz and Tucson, Hyundai’s sales grew a massive 72 percent last
year. And with models like the widely-acclaimed Sonata joining the mix in 2005, the brand continues to go from strength
to strength.
Part of the Giltrap Group, Hyundai is the only mainstream brand wholly New Zealand owned and operated.
