Fiesta, Courier And Territory Contribute to Best Ever October for Ford

Record breaking months by Fiesta and Courier and segment leadership by Territory and Mondeo have helped Ford New Zealand
reach its highest ever October sales.
"Ford Motor Company is able to offer a comprehensive new vehicle line up, and we subsequently find ourselves in a strong
position to consistently challenge for leadership across a number of segments," said Ford New Zealand Managing Director
Richard Matheson.
"We actually had four models in the top 11 most popular cars in the country ranging from the smallest passenger vehicle
in our line-up, Fiesta, through to Mondeo and our Australian-manufactured Falcon and Territory," said Mr Matheson.
"Fiesta was the most popular small car in New Zealand last month demonstrating that Kiwi drivers appreciate the European
styling, German engineering, and exciting driving dynamics of this small car with its large car capabilities."
October was the best ever result for two models from different spectrums of Ford's comprehensive model range – Fiesta
(223 sales) and light commercial workhorse, the Courier (185 sales) which boasts unrivalled power and pulling prowess.
"Once again Territory was the best-selling SUV in New Zealand – a record it has maintained since its launch in June 2004
– showing that it truly is a car people fall in love with quickly," said Mr Matheson.
"Mondeo recently adopted a fresh new look which is already proving popular with customers – it was a clear winner in the
C/D segment in October with sales of 322 vehicles."
Ford's highest October volume on record has cemented the Motor Company in second place in passenger vehicles, light
commercials, and in overall vehicles sales for 2005.
