Guy Fawkes Cash Explosion for Two Lotto First Division Winners in Featherston And Manukau City & Strike Winner in Te Kuiti
It’s been a Guy Fawkes night cash explosion for two Lotto tickets bought in Manukau City and Featherston which have each
won Lotto’s First Division, worth more than $500,000, in tonight’s draw, says New Zealand Lotteries Commission (NZ
Lotteries) Chief Executive Trevor Hall.
“Lotto players in Manukau City and Featherston, in the Wairarapa, should check their tickets, as these Lotto First
Division prizes of $508,437 each are just waiting to be claimed, “Mr Hall says.
The biggest single winner of the night was from a Strike Four ticket from Te Kuiti which has scooped its owner a massive
$664,408.
Another Wairarapa Lotto player, Jill de Boer, who lives in Martinborough, spun and won $275,000 on Lotto’s Winning
Wheel.
Mrs de Boer, a 79-year-old retiree, was the oldest person to spin the wheel so far. She won her chance to spin Lotto's
Winning Wheel on her birthday, with a ticket she bought from Pak 'n' Save in Hastings.
She has recently moved to Martinborough from Hastings, where she has been for the last 43 years. She keeps herself busy
playing bowls and doing jigsaw puzzles. She also loves knitting and knits rugs and slippers for the Red Cross
“What a wonderful prize for Jill who has given so much back to the community over the years,” says Mr Hall.
To cap off a sparkling night for Lotto players, seven Division Two Lotto winners will each be taking home $42,405 and a
ticket sold in Orewa won this week’s Winning Wheel serial number draw.
“It’ll certainly be a memorable Guy Fawkes for all of these players, and we urge all our players to get into their
nearest Lotto shops and get their tickets checked” says Mr Hall.
Powerball First Division was not won and has jackpotted to an estimated $8.5 million for next week’s draw.
