Organics, the New Economic Wave
The Council of Organics Aotearoa New Zealand (OANZ) today elected past Zespri Chair Doug Voss ONZM as joint Council and Board Chair for the new organic sector umbrella organisation.
Deputy Chair is David Wright from the Biodynamic Association. Other board members are Mike Palmers from the Soil & Health Association, Natalie Milne from Agriquality, Rick Carmont from Organic Products Exporters of NZ, and Manu Paul and Percy Tipene of Te Waka Kia Ora.
The launch of the sector umbrella organisation at the Wellington Events Centre ( Friday Nov 4) is concurrent with a public organics Expo and seminars at the Centre Friday and Saturday.
Mr Voss welcomed the diversity of the board, “ the diversity of the board reflects the makeup of the OANZ Council which is expected to grow as further organic sector participants are brought on”.
The launch of Organics Aotearoa New Zealand and its board build on a strategy towards a target of $1 billion total sector sales.
“This is a totally committed and united sector that recognises the leadership role of Organics Aotearoa New Zealand and the huge growth ahead,” said Mr Voss.
