MYOB seminar to safeguard IT investments
Investing in the right IT solutions is important for any organisation, but that investment can be severely compromised without adequate computer security.
In partnership with MYOB, IT industry expert and principal consultant of Discern Consulting, Ray Delaney, will be presenting a seminar on securing business data. The seminar will be held in Christchurch on Wednesday 9th of November, and also in Auckland on Thursday 10th of November.
Over the years, leading software developer MYOB has made a firm commitment to maintain IT education and support for New Zealand businesses.
"As technology becomes increasingly sophisticated and more widely used, so too do the threats to computer security for businesses," says MYOB Managing Director David Lowe.
"It is important to not only stay up-to-date with security measures, but also to be proactive in protecting business data. This seminar looks at ways to fully and safely integrate information technologies into your business - while also safeguarding your most valuable asset and getting the best value from your investment."
With over 25 years experience in the IT industry and as a frequent presenter and lecturer on IT, Ray Delaney is the ideal candidate for making computer security accessible. "Ray is a lively presenter who has the ability to make complex IT matters clear, concise and easy to understand," says David Lowe.
The seminar will focus on hardware and sensitive document security, effective backups, protection against network 'nasties' such as viruses, spam, spyware and 'phishing' attacks, in addition to safe email and internet practices. There will also be an in-depth 'how-to' session on configuration and use of Trend Micro PC-cillinTM Internet security product - with a complimentary copy of this product included in the seminar package.
The seminar is one of the initiatives MYOB has developed nationally in support of 'Net Basics', a new education campaign designed to promote online security, launched this month by Netsafe, The Internet Safety Group.
Wholesale rates are available for MYOB businessSUPPORT customers and MYOB Approved Partners.
