Seafood Innovations Limited announces new General Manager
The chairman of Seafood Innovations Limited (SIL), Dave Sharp, today announced the appointment of Tony Hadfield as the new General Manager of Seafood Innovations.
“Tony will provide positive leadership for Seafood Innovations and the Board is delighted to have him,” Mr Sharp said of the appointment.
Mr Hadfield has considerable experience working for the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology (FRST) and as a consultant to other government agencies including the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology (MORST). He has been involved in developing strategic and operational policy around government assistance to business for Research and Development and assisting at the interface between private sector firms and science and technology.
“His significant experience in working with business, government and science has made him an excellent choice for Seafood Innovations. He understands what it takes for businesses and research organisations to turn good research into excellent commercial outcomes and this is exactly what Seafood Innovations does,” Mr Sharp said.
Mr Hadfield will take up the position in late November. He says he is looking forward to starting this challenging role.
Seafood Innovations Ltd is a research company owned 80 percent by the New Zealand Seafood Industry Council Ltd (SeaFIC) and 20 percent by Crop and Food Research Ltd. It is a joint-venture that leverages funding from FRST and aims to commercialise market-driven industry innovation across the value chain.
