Colour Comfort: Using the Power of Colour to Change Your Life
When you woke up this morning and chose to put on certain clothes, did you know that you are shaping how people perceive you?
Did you realize that every day, colour touches you and those who interact with you on an emotional level?
When we think of colour, we usually do not associate the thought with the power of suggestion. But colour is, in fact, one of our most potent generators of emotion, evoking powerful reaction by bypassing the "intelligent brain" and heading straight to the "primitive brain" where those strong emotional reactions originate.
You may not always think about the colors that define your favorite characters or movies, but they're there, an integral part of establishing mood and personality, just as colours do in your clothing. Colour is a powerful force in our lives: It can lift our spirits or sink them, depress our appetite or increase it, make our hearts beat faster or soothe us.
Use of colour in clothing, as with use of colour in any physical space or other role, is a powerful force. Colour is an incredibly strong method of communication. When properly understood and utilised, it can improve your self image, your mental well being, and can help influence how others perceive you.
This is where Colour Coaching can have a huge impact in your life. Not only can it help you to feel better about yourself, but it can also help you to understand what you are communicating to others through your colour choice. A Colour Coaching session will provide specific information about each client’s qualities, their emotional attitude towards life and the challenges they face. Personal reaction is a key to understanding an individual’s strengths and challenges.
Colour Comfort Ltd is the brain child of Thelma van der Werff. She is a registered practitioner with the International Academy of Colour Therapeutics UK, and is a member of the New Zealand Charter of Health Practitioners. Her focus is to “give clients a personal insight by explaining the language of colour. Knowledge and understanding of self can bring harmony, joy, and self-empowerment.”
Thelma will be available to speak to in person at the Visionary Living Show, where she will also be signing copies of her recently released book. Titled “Why are you wearing those Colours”, the book provides insight and understanding into colours, what they reveal about you, and much more. This is an opportunity not to be missed; come and find out how powerful and life changing colour can be.
