Lotto Players At Wellington Airport On A Lucky Streak
A Lotto player who bought their ticket at Whitcoulls in Wellington Airport won a total of $200,030 this weekend, only one week after the store sold a winning Winning Wheel ticket, New Zealand Lotteries Commission (NZ Lotteries) Chief Executive Trevor Hall says.
A fifth share of Lotto First Division, worth $200,000, was won on Saturday 8 October and has already been claimed. The same ticket also won $30 in Lotto Fifth Divison.
Another lucky player who bought their ticket at the Airport won a Second Division prize of $22,327.
The third prize that has gone the way of an airport visitor was the serial number draw for Lotto's Winning Wheel on Saturday 1 October.
The Second Division prize has not been claimed, but the First Division and Winning Wheel winners have already come forward.
Whitcoulls Wellington Airport's Lotto manager, Doug Stitt, says the store has been busy during the school holidays.
"We are thrilled. The winners could be from anywhere, although we would hope the prize-winning tickets belong to Wellingtonians.
Since Lotto started Whitcoulls Wellington Airport has sold 165,741 winning tickets and paid out $4,951,657 in prize money, across all the Lotto family games (Lotto Strike, Lotto Powerball and Lotto.)
The other First Divison wins in the weekend went to tickets sold in Waiheke Island, Rotorua, Te Puke, and Mangonui in Northland.
