North Island 400 kV Grid Upgrade Project: Registrations of Interest - 26 Aug 2005
Transpower's proposed North Island 400 kV Grid Upgrade Project broadly consists the construction of:
(a) a 200km long, 400 kV AC double circuit, steel lattice tower, overhead transmission line from the central North Island (at Whakamaru) to a point just south of Auckland
(b) a 9km long, 400 kV AC double circuit, underground transmission cable from an overhead line to underground cable transition station on the outskirts of Auckland to a sub-station located in the suburbs (at Otahuhu)
(c) associated sub-stations works consisting the construction of:
* a new 400/220 kV sub-station at Whakamaru, central North Island
* altering/upgrading an existing 220 kV substation at Otahuhu in south Auckland
* a new overhead line to underground cable transition station, south of Auckland.
We are pleased to announce that we are now inviting Registrations of Interest for the following components of the proposed Project.
