The Day After The Vote On Maori Television
Maori Television is getting ready for the broadcast of its post election results and analysis on the special KOWHIRINGA 05, screening on Sunday September 18 at 8.00 PM.
Following immediately from the channel’s news bulletin Te Kaea at 7.30PM, the one-hour special will be hosted by Julian Wilcox.
KOWHIRINGA 05 will examine the previous night’s election results and what those results mean for Maori with a panel comprising Te Runanga o Taranaki Whanui ki te Upoko o te Ika a Maui chief executive officer Kara Puketapu, University of Auckland political science researcher Kaapua Smith and University of Auckland Director of Maori and Pacific Health Department Dr Sue Crengle.
In particular, the special will examine the effects the election results will have on the future political direction of Maori and analysis will be undertaken in more detail on the results of the seven Maori electorate seats.
Maori Television chief executive officer Jim Mather says “this election is going to be hugely significant for Maori. It will also be the first general election covered by Maori Television and we will be ensuring that all policies and issues of relevance to Maori are comprehensively addressed.”
KOWHIRINGA 05 screens on Maori Television on Sunday September 18 at 8.00 PM.
