Australia’s top franchise organisation has identified New Zealand as the platform for offshore expansions plans and will be in Auckland today (12 August) to test the waters with interested local investors.
Current Australian Franchisor of the Year and the number one most respected Australian franchise, PoolWerx, has announced plans to grant up to 20 new franchises in New Zealand.
The leading pool and spa services organisation currently has 200 franchisees operating throughout Australia.
The 20 franchise opportunities on offer in New Zealand represent a potential $20 million boost to the local economy and 75+ new local jobs.
PoolWerx CEO, John O’Brien – who will be in Auckland from 12-14 August – says New Zealand is the ideal country to commence offshore expansion plans.
“We’ve just reached the milestone 200th Australian franchise and the time is ripe to explore offshore expansion opportunities,” said O’Brien.
“New Zealand has over 60,000 in-ground pools and the frequency of applications for pool permits is escalating monthly.
“PoolWerx plans to work in beside existing local operators and tap into this growth through increasing the level of aftermarket services offered,” he said. PoolWerx emphasises the importance of a career path for franchisees.
“The PoolWerx franchise system provides a franchising career path – it’s not just buying yourself a job,” said O’Brien.
“When franchisees join PoolWerx, they become part of our ‘three tiers in five years plan’, offering a focused and flexible career path.
“This business model has been proven in Australia, with franchisees starting with a single mobile van and growing their business into a $1 million-plus retail hub in under five years.
“We’re now eager to offer this opportunity to local New Zealand entrepreneurs, who understand and appreciate the local culture,” he said.
In the traditionally male-dominant franchise industry, PoolWerx has broken the mould and actively targets female franchisees, which will be replicated throughout New Zealand expansion plans.
