10pm 11 August 2005 - New Zealand's top exporter for 2005 is Rakon Ltd, a family business that started in a basement and today earns more than $60 million in annual exports, its high performance crystals and oscillators found in the world's leading mobile phones and global positioning systems.
The Auckland company, described by the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Export Awards' judges as a problem solver for the world, achieved a staggering 762% increase in sales between January 2002 and December 2004.
