$20,000 Keno Winning Ticket Sold In Ferrymead
A Keno player who bought their ticket in Ferrymead, Christchurch, has scooped a $20,000 Keno prize, New Zealand
Lotteries Commission Chief Executive (NZ Lotteries) Trevor Hall said today.
NZ Lotteries retailer Kerry Messervy, from Paper Plus Ferrymead, where the winning Keno ticket was sold, said this was
the biggest Keno prize winning ticket her store has ever sold.
"Hopefully it's gone to one of our regular customers. We've got a few dedicated Keno players and it would be great if
it's one of them."
Paper Plus Ferrymead sold another top prize winning ticket recently as the store sold a $100,000 prize in Lotto's 'Nest
Eggs for Easter' promotion.
Christchurch's luck extended to Lotto as well as Keno this weekend.
The Winning Wheel winning ticket drawn on Saturday night was sold by Stanmore New World. The prize, a trip to Wellington
for a luxury weekend and the chance to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel has been claimed by a Christchurch woman.
In a strange coincidence, Stanmore New World also sold a $20,000 Keno prize two weeks ago.
Keno winners have another chance to win big in Keno's latest promotion, where a trip to Sydney to see the NRL Grand
Final is up for grabs, Mr Hall said.
With every entry into a Keno draw between Sunday 31 July and Saturday 13 August, players will receive a voucher that
puts them in the draw for a package for four people to see the NRL Grand Final in October, at Stadium Australia.
In addition to the big travel prize, NZ Lotteries will also give away 50 Warriors jerseys signed by the team. The
winning voucher numbers will be available in-store on Sunday 14 July, after the 6pm draw on Saturday 13 August.
Keno is an easy numbers game that is played twice a day, every day. Keno players select up to 10 numbers from a total of
80 possible numbers. In each Keno draw, 20 numbers are randomly drawn and there are prizes for correctly selecting
between zero and 10 of the numbers.
Although Keno is one of the smaller brands in the NZ Lotteries portfolio, more than 100,000 Keno players win $1 million
in prizes every month. A $1 ticket can win $250,000
