More Variants And Smart New Image For Ridge A2 Milk
To meet consumer demand, New Zealand’s largest producer of protein-rich A2 milk, Ridge Natural Foods Ltd, has extended its range of milk variants and introduced a fresh new look to boot!
From full cream to trim milk for the weight conscious, there is now a Ridge A2 milk to suit all lifestyles and tastes in eye-catching new packaging.
Ridge A2’s Managing Partner John Morgan says more and more people are recognising the benefits of drinking milk fortified naturally with the A2 beta casein, so a full range of variants and a more commercial image, in line with standard milk, was vital.
“More people are switching to a healthy protein-rich milk choice that has high natural amounts of A2, particularly now that there are a number of international studies suggesting a range of potential benefits associated with drinking it,” says John.
“We are constantly fielding calls from consumers asking where they can buy our milk or find more information on the potential benefits of A2.”
A2 is often referred to as the ‘original milk’ because it contains the original beta casein gene from the first cows known to mankind. Subsequent genetic mutation has yielded other variants common in standard milk.
“Cattle thousands of years ago, before the large-scale domestication of cows, produced A2 milk and it can suit some people better,” says John.
A2 milk was first launched in New Zealand in 2003.
To produce Ridge A2 milk, farmers have their herds tested by a certified A2 tester. Cows that naturally produce A2 milk are then segregated from the others and milked separately.
Ridge A2 Milk is a rich source of calcium with no additives and has not been genetically modified. It can be found in selected supermarkets and health food shops nationwide for around $4.00.
