Progressive Enterprises contributes to kiwi saving campaign
The Bank of New Zealand Kiwi Recovery Trust has received $8000 from Progressive Enterprises in support of Kiwi Bacon's
75th anniversary campaign to save the kiwi.
The money, which is in addition to Kiwi Bacon's three-year sponsorship of the Trust, was raised by a donation of ten
cents from every pack of Kiwi Bacon sold in Foodtown and Woolworths supermarkets over a six-week period.
Kiwi Bacon's sponsorship is part of the company's 75th birthday celebrations. The sponsorship was launched in Whangarei
recently and was marked by the release of a kiwi named 'Bacon' into the wild.
Progressive Enterprises category manager, Andrew Junge, says his company was keen to do its bit to not only support the
kiwi, but also to help Kiwi Bacon celebrate its 75th anniversary milestone.
Bank of New Zealand Kiwi Recovery Trust executive director, Kieron Goodwin, says the Trust is delighted by Progressive's
fundraising efforts as part of Kiwi Bacon's 75th anniversary campaign to save the kiwi.
"This money, like the Kiwi Bacon sponsorship, will be earmarked for helping support community-based kiwi conservation
groups throughout New Zealand.
"There are more than 55 of these groups around New Zealand who are all in urgent need of funding support - this will go
a significant way to making a difference," says Mr Goodwin.
