House of Travel Takes Out Fourth Product Award
At the recent annual BFTE (Bula Fiji Tourism Exchange) House of Travel took out top honours for the production of their
Fiji brochure and poster in two separate categories.
This is House of Travel's fifth product award with awards recently collected for their Africa and Australia brochures.
The Air Pacific Tabua Awards have become a significant annual event at BFTE, providing the marketers of South Pacific
tourism with an opportunity to showcase their product. The concept of the awards is to showcase and acknowledge the
finished product which markets this special part of the world.
The judges acknowledged the very high standard of the entries, up 20% on the previous year and the professionalism by
which Fiji and the South Pacific is being marketed internationally. House of Travel was among several companies
acknowledged for their commitment to this year's awards with multiple nominations in a variety of categories.
Overall there were 185 entries in nine categories.
Organiser of the awards, Bill Whiting said the judges considered the following attributes in their decision making
process; the overall destinational product, the visual impact, the information provided and the production values.
"We were particularly impressed with the content in the House of Travel brochure, the detail provided and additional
informational, which is so useful to consumers, made it worthy of its first placing," Bill said.
House of Travel's Lynda Cairns, product manager for the South Pacific said the awards meant a great deal for her team.
"We are all very passionate about the South Pacific and what it has to offer holiday makers. Winning these awards is
recognition of a total team effort. At House of Travel we do the majority of the design of our brochures and other
promotional material in-house, so to win two awards is a fantastic achievement and great recognition of everybody's hard
work."
House of Travel was also nominated for their South Pacific brochure, an additional Fiji poster and a press
advertisement.
