Barfoot & Thompson auctioneers contribute to the success of charity events
Two charity events this month have raised more than $600,000 with the help of Barfoot & Thompson auctioneers.
Barfoot & Thompson auctioneer Michael Williams ran the auctions at the Great Rugby Debates held in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington and auctioneer Murray Smith conducted the annual Robin Hood Foundation Media Auction at St-Matthew-in-the-City.
The money raised from the Great Rugby Debate will be divided between several organisations including Sport Aiding Medical Research for Kids (SPARKS), Macmillan Cancer Relief and The Rugby Foundation. The Robin Hood Foundation Media Auction proceeds will help to further the work that the foundation does encouraging businesses to form ongoing relationships with charities.
Fifteen items were auctioned at the Great Rugby Debate ranging from a Picasso etching to a guitar signed by the Rolling Stones. While the annual Robin Hood Foundation Media Auction saw businesses bidding for column inches that had been donated by media organisations.
Barfoot & Thompson Auction Manager Tony Worsp is delighted with the results. "These events were extremely successful and it was a pleasure to see the skills of our auctioneers bring the crowds to life."
