Emirates To Launch Second Daily Non-Stop Service To New York On November 7
Emirates, a world leader in airline luxury since its founding in 1985, will add a second daily non-stop Airbus A340-500 flight from Dubai to New York on November 7, due to the unprecedented success of the initial non-stop service between the two cities introduced in June 2004.
Operating from Dubai International Airport to the ultra-modern Terminal 4 at JFK, the new daily service, EK203, will depart Dubai at 1:30am every day and land in New York at 7:10am the same day. The return flight, EK204, will depart JFK at 9:10am and arrive in Dubai at 6:50am the next day, offering a connection to New Zealand flights..
The world's fastest-growing intercontinental airline offers the only non-stop A340-500 service from New York (JFK) to Dubai. The existing Emirates' service between the two cities, EK201, departs Dubai at 8:00am every day and arrives in JFK at 2:10pm the same day, with the return flight, EK202, departing JFK daily at 11:30pm and arriving in Dubai at 8:20pm the following day. New Zealand flights connect to EK201 to New York.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates' Executive Vice President Commercial Operations Worldwide, said: "North America is an important market for Emirates. Our service between Dubai and New York has been extremely popular and strong customer demand has proved to us that a second daily flight is required on this ultra long-haul route.
"Passengers travelling to New York from Dubai can now choose to arrive in the American city at either breakfast time or at around lunch time, which gives them far greater flexibility when planning their trips for business or leisure. While Emirates passengers from New York can arrive in Dubai either early morning or late evening to plan their stay in Dubai or meet onward services with Emirates to other destinations."
Members of Skywards, Emirates' frequent flyer programme, can earn Skywards Miles when flying in any Class between New York and Dubai. Members flying onwards from New York to other destinations in the US can earn Miles when using Skywards partner airlines Delta and Continental Airlines.
Since its introduction in June of 2004, Emirates' Airbus A340-500 in-flight experience has been heralded throughout North America and Dubai for its exceptional passenger services and amenities including 12 fully enclosed First Class suites with flat beds and sliding doors that can be opened or closed at will for privacy. The A340-500 also operates on the Auckland-Melbourne-Dubai and Christchurch-Sydney-Dubai routes.
Its other features include quieter cabins, revolutionary lighting to help reset body clocks and minimise jetlag, the world's most advanced in-flight entertainment, ICE (information, communication, entertainment system), with 500-plus channels, and room service - an Emirates first. Customers phone the galley to order meals, served at their seat at the time of their choice.
Business Class seats are laid out 2-2-2, putting everyone beside either an aisle or window, and adjust at the touch of a button. Emirates Economy has also been redesigned to make cabins quieter and more restful, with wider, more comfortable 2-4-2 seats and nine-inch personal video screens - larger than in almost every other Economy class.
This new daily service to New York will also increase Emirates' cargo capacity between the two cities. The additional flight will see Emirates SkyCargo's tonnage on the route doubled from 15 tonnes to 30 tonnes a day.
Passengers can also take advantage of Emirates Holidays' offerings to the US. In addition to New York, Emirates Holidays also offers packages to some of the most exciting cities in America including Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orlando and Miami. Emirates Holidays offers a wide range of tailor made, pre-planned and self drive itineraries, private chauffeur-driven car and coach tours.
Emirates Holidays' all-America packages feature accommodation ranging from ultra-luxury hotels to family resorts and hotel apartments. All hotels, apartments, lodges and resorts have been hand-picked by Emirates Holidays, and personally inspected to ensure that they meet the needs of the discerning holidaymaker.
Travellers visiting America on an Emirates Holidays package can also take advantage of a comprehensive travel insurance policy which covers worldwide medical expenses up to US$1 million.
