Polynesian Blue Welcomed by Travel Agent
The announcement that Virgin Blue offshoot Polynesian Blue will now be flying to Samoa has been welcomed by one of New Zealand’s largest travel agents.
Flight Centre general manager Jeremy van de Klundert says low cost carrier Polynesian Blue entering the market means good news for New Zealand travellers, opening the Samoan route up to the discounts already enjoyed by Pacific Blue and Virgin Blue customers.
Polynesian Blue takes over from former Samoan national carrier Polynesian Airlines, and plans to kick off its schedule with flights from New Zealand and Australia to Samoa in October, subject to approval.
Jeremy van de Klundert says the airline is a welcome addition to the Pacific market, as the ‘Blue’ brand’s maverick style has given the industry a welcome shake up on other routes.
“While we may not see dollar airfares every month, expect to get some great deals in the Pacific next year,” he said.
