Auckland Becomes First Hospital To Offer The Boost Juice Experience
The award winning Boost Juice Bars will open its first hospital outlet at Auckland City Hospital today (30th June) offering staff, patients and visitors the choice of smoothies, juices or wheatgrass shots!
A healthy alternative to fast food, Boost Juice offers a range of fresh fruit and vegetable smoothies and juices that are low in fat and free of artificial colourings or flavours.
The largest and fastest growing juice bar company in the Southern Hemisphere, Boost Juice has 150 stores throughout Australasia and sells more than one million juices and smoothies each month.
The Auckland City Hospital outlet will service the main hospital, Starship Children’s Health and the surrounding area says owner David Wright, with delivery options to outlying areas of the hospital.
Mr Wright of iconic Kiwi fashion retail chain MAX is the master franchise owner for Boost Juice in New Zealand, having recently joined forces with the Australian company to bring the run-away success to this side of the Tasman.
With two stores already in Auckland’s St Lukes and Downtown shopping malls, the Auckland City Hospital outlet will be Boost’s third in New Zealand, and Mr Wright says he expects it will do well.
“We think Boost Juice is a great fit with Auckland City Hospital. Our juices and smoothies are all low in fat, free of artificial colours or flavours, and provide a great alternative to fast food.”
Auckland City Hospital general manager Dr Nigel Murray welcomes the new store.
“We are pleased to extend the number of onsite facilities for patients and staff and I am sure that Boost will become a popular choice.”
Operating in Australia for five years, Boost currently has 148 outlets nationwide. Boost Founder and Managing Director Janine Allis opened the first outlet in Adelaide.
A mother of three young boys, Ms Allis says as a consumer she had always struggled to find anything healthy for her and her boys to eat and drink when she was short of time. Ms Allis is passionate about providing a healthy alternative to fast food and continues to research new ways to improve and enhance the products.
An award-winning entrepreneur, Ms Allis received five awards in Australia last year alone including business woman of the year, business owner of the year and retailer of the year.
New Zealand master franchise holder David Wright says a fourth New Zealand outlet will open in the new Westfield Queensgate in Lower Hutt in August and there are plans to have up to 30 stores nationwide within the next three years.
While expanding from the fashion market into juice may not be seen as an obvious move, Mr Wright says the growth in the global retail fresh juice market as a trend for health and taste conscious consumers is entirely complementary with his retail fashion success.
After more than 20 years as head of MAX, he says he is acutely aware of what works with the female “fashion focused” demographic, the same group he believes is the primary target for Boost in New Zealand.
Boost Juice opens at Auckland City Hospital on Thursday 30 June with opening day specials, tastings and voucher giveaways.
