Allied Telesyn NZ Hi Tech Awards Opens With New Title Sponsor
Press release, 29-June-05, Allied Telesyn New Zealand Hi Tech Awards, Christchurch, New Zealand: Allied Telesyn, one of
the world's leading enterprise networking organisations, is taking over the reins as title sponsor of the New Zealand Hi
Tech Awards 2005.
Having enjoyed the last three years as title sponsor, Westpac is stepping aside to support instead the esteemed Hall of
Fame honour - the Flying Kiwi Award. The Awards are not to be missed with five events over 30 September and 1 October
guaranteed to enlighten and entertain all who attend.
Phil Holliday, Chairman of the NZ Hi Tech Awards Committee is delighted to welcome Allied Telesyn as title sponsor. He

The Awards sponsors this year are Allied Telesyn, Avnet, Microsoft, NZBio, Tait Electronics, Westpac, Endace, Navman,

This year the Allied Telesyn NZ Hi Tech Awards looks to the future with the theme "Science Fiction or Science Future?"
and taps into the inherent
excitement surrounding novel inventions. Attendance is required for everyone who has ever watched a sci-fi movie and
wondered, "Will that ever be possible?" The weekend will celebrate individuals and businesses that have developed
products and services which were once thought impossible to achieve.
Christchurch is the proud host of this year's Awards, which comprises five events over Friday 30th September and
Saturday 1st October:
The weekend kicks off on the Friday night with the Hi Tech Awards Cocktail Launch in conjunction with the Bright Sparks
Awards (www.brightsparks.org.nz) at Rydges Hotel. The next day commences with an Industry Forum breakfast of prized
speakers at the Crowne Plaza followed by the Gala Dinner presentation of the Allied Telesyn New Zealand Hi Tech Awards
(www.hitech.org.nz) at the Christchurch Convention Centre.
In conjunction with the festivities, the second annual Electronics South Connectivity 05 trade show
(www.esconnectivity.org.nz) which displays some of the advanced technologies and services created here in New Zealand,
will be held during both days at the Christchurch Town Hall.
The festivities culminate on the evening of October 1 with the Hi Tech Awards Gala Dinner, where New Zealand's most
outstanding innovators in the field of technology will be honoured. In addition to Special Awards in the fields of
Biotech, Electronics, and Software, the winner of the Allied Telesyn Hi Tech Company of the Year will be recognised as
New Zealand's number one Hi Tech company.

meet our youngest and brightest talent and see their winning exhibits.
About ES Connectivity 05 ES Connectivity 05 is a trade event to expose New Zealand's electronics capability, with an
emphasis on developing and furthering relationships in the industry. During the trade event powerful next generation
