THL Group acquires AAP Communications Services
The Transmission Holdings Limited (THL) Group has signed a sale and purchase agreement to acquire AAP Communications Services Pty Ltd (AAPCS) as a subsidiary of THL Australia Pty Limited.
THL Group Chairman Wayne Brown said the acquisition reflected the Board's strategy of growth and represented an exciting development for both the THL Group and AAPCS.
AAPCS is one of Australia's leading suppliers of engineering services to the telecommunications industry. It also provides desktop support and IT services to some of Australia's largest corporations.
The THL Group is an Australasian network services Group specialising in wireless engineering, broadcast, telecommunications and enterprise IT services. With the addition of AAPCS, the THL Group comprises Broadcast Communications Limited (BCL) in New Zealand, THL Australia Pty Limited (THL Australia) and AAP Communications Services Pty Limited (AAPCS) in Australia.
THL Australia has established itself as a leading Australian supplier of broadcast transmission and maritime communications services.
Wayne Brown said AAPCS represented an excellent fit with the THL Group, with complementary skills and expertise.
"The acquisition means AAPCS becomes part of a Group that understands its business and is dedicated to supporting its continued growth."
"It's also good news for our customers. Both THL Australia and AAPCS now have access to a wider pool of support and resources available to meet customers' needs and provide the responsive service our customers have come to expect," he said.
The THL Group was created in 2003 when Television New Zealand's transmission division was established as a separate company.
THL Group Chief Executive Geoff Hunt was appointed to the role in May 2005. He was previously Managing Director of AREVA T's service operations in Australia and New Zealand.
