Fletcher applies for clearance to acquire Stevenson’s Building Products
The Commerce Commission has received an application from Fletcher Concrete and Infrastructure Limited seeking clearance to acquire the assets of W Stevenson & Sons Limited building products division.
Fletcher is a building materials manufacturer and distributor with a diverse range of operations. The key areas relevant to its clearance Application are its Northland, Auckland and Christchurch operations in cement, concrete products and retailing of building products.
Stevenson’s building products division’s key business activities are the manufacture and supply of concrete products located in Northland, Auckland and Christchurch. It also has retail sales yards in Auckland and Christchurch.
In considering the application, the Commission’s role is to determine whether the acquisition has the effect of substantially lessening competition in a market.
