Learn A New Language With Singapore Airlines
And get certified for it at the same time!
More than just pure entertainment, KrisWorld, Singapore Airlines' award-winning inflight entertainment system, now offers a fully interactive language tutor.
This month, Singapore Airlines is launching the Berlitz® Word Traveller, a fully interactive language learning programme which will enable passengers (in Economy, Raffles and First Class) to learn a new language during the course of the flight.
"Singapore Airlines customers visiting a foreign city no longer have to rely on communicating using hand signs and wild gestures, as the new language learning service is designed to equip them with a practical grasp of a foreign language through the use of key words and phrases," said Singapore Airlines General Manager New Zealand, Mr Sak Hin Chin.
Each of the language courses features four main lesson categories- numbers, dates, words and dialogue. There are also self-tests, games and a pronunciation function to facilitate learning, while making it interesting and fun at the same time.
Singapore Airlines customers can choose from a total of 11 languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Russian, Portuguese, Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese. From late 2005, customers will have their hands full when the entire selection of more than 20 languages is introduced.
To applaud passengers learning, a certificate of recognition will be emailed to them when they complete each language course. The certificate is jointly endorsed by Singapore Airlines and Berlitz® International.
The Berlitz® Word Traveller was created by Berlitz® International, the world's premier language services firm with 125 years of expertise in language instruction, translation and publishing worldwide.
Singapore Airlines is the first airline in the world to introduce this interactive language learning software programme as part of its inflight entertainment selection.
KrisWorld, Singapore Airlines' award-winning and ever-expanding inflight entertainment system, now offers 500 entertainment options, including video and audio programming, interactive games and news, to keep all customers enthralled throughout the journey. Customers can choose from a selection of 60 movies, including many blockbusters, 100 TV programmes, 220 music CD albums and audio books, as well as 85 video games.
