Bluebridge Adds Extra Sailing To Meet Barmy Army Demand
The 100% New Zealand owned and run Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferry service has added an extra sailing to its schedule to
help make sure Lion's supporters don't miss out on the 2 July Test in Wellington.
The Bluebridge vessel, the Santa Regina, will leave Picton for Wellington at 8am on Wellington test day - and heavy
demand for the extra sailing is expected.
Bluebridge spokeswoman Wendy Pannett is urging those that haven't already booked their Cook Strait crossings to contact
Bluebridge as soon as possible.
"Almost every sailing from South to North during the week before the Wellington test is booked out so those that still
haven't booked need to get in quick for this one extra sailing."
"We want to avoid the situation of disappointed Lion's fans being stranded in Picton and not able to make it to the
second test," she says.
Bluebridge team members will be at Barmy Army Headquarters on Wellington waterfront this afternoon encouraging the rugby
fans to think ahead about their Cook Strait travel.
The Bluebridge service sails twice a day between Wellington and Picton and carries up to 370 people and more than 150
cars.
