PMP installing Heatset Press into Auckland
New Zealand’s largest print media services company, PMP (NZ) Limited, is installing a Goss heatset printing press at its Wiri site in order to increase the company’s printing capacity in the Auckland market.
PMP (NZ) Ltd Chief Executive, Rodger Shepherd, says the press will allow PMP to better service all segments of the retail catalogue market and will add capacity to peak demand periods.
The press will primarily specialise in eight page tabloid and four page broadsheet work.
“The addition of the Goss press to our Auckland plant gives us a greater breadth of capability in a region where we have the greatest demand. The market is quite buoyant at present and we need more capacity in Auckland,” he says.
The installation of the Goss press in Auckland follows PMP’s investment in a new $15 million heat set web-based press for its Christchurch operation last year.
The press will be installed in the first week of July and is expected to start its first live run in mid July.
Printing forms just one part of PMP’s business. Its other divisions – PMP Micromarketing, PMP Digital, Gordon & Gotch, and PMP Distribution – provide services in database marketing, digital premedia, design, photography and retail and letterbox distribution, creating smarter print solutions that deliver on customer needs.
