Biodynamic Conference
The Bio Dynamic Farming and Gardening Association Conference this weekend in Blenheim has attracted many more
participants than usual. That's probably because it features biodynamic wine and grape growing as its major theme.
Biodynamic wine growing is attracting interest all over the world with regular exhibitions of biodynamic wines in Europe
and the USA.
The Conference features wine maker James Millton (The Millton Vineyard, Gisborne) who is the pioneer of biodynamics in
the vineyard in New Zealand. He's joined by Nick Mills (The Rippon Vineyard, Wanaka), and biodynamic viticulture
consultant Andreas Welte. A visit to the Seresin Estate will satisfy the need that growers will surely feel to get out
and experience actual grape growing and winemaking.
Other types of agriculture will not be neglected - on the following afternoon there will be a farm visit which will
feature a workshop led by long time biodynamic farmer Ian Henderson on observing livestock.
