Settlement at tyre plant
Negotiators have reached a settlement in the long-running Bridgestone tyre factory dispute.
While the union is not releasing details at this stage, EPMU South Island director Ged O'Connell said that the negotiating team would be recommending the deal be accepted when it was put to members on Monday night.
Some 25 trades workers went on strike for a month after the company offered them a 2.8 per cent pay rise. The workers were seeking 5 per cent, in line with other settlements in the manufacturing sector.
