Future Development Focus on Automator and Dashboard
AUCKLAND, New Zealand, May 2, 2005 – FileMaker has announced that FileMaker Pro 7 users will experience immediate compatibility with Apple’s new Mac OS X Tiger. FileMaker also plans to support the Dashboard and Automator, two leading new features within the new operating system.
“We are excited and inspired about the new possibilities of Tiger and our future development of FileMaker Pro,” said FileMaker president Dominique Goupil. “While Tiger users can get productive right away using FileMaker Pro 7, we also are planning on leveraging Automator’s approach to streamlining repetitive tasks along with Dashboard’s unique, time-saving delivery of information,” he added.
“Breakthrough Tiger features like Dashboard and Automator will change the way people use the computer,” said Ron Okamoto, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “We are thrilled to see FileMaker Pro 7 supporting Tiger innovation to enhance ease-of-use and boost productivity."
