Tomorrow night at 7:00pm on Prime Television, Paul Holmes will cross live to one of New Zealand’s first Civil Union ceremonies.
The hard-fought battle for same-sex couples’legal recognition in New Zealand has ended.
The controversial Civil Union Act came into effect in New Zealand on Tuesday 26 April, making it now legal for gay and lesbian couples to marry in a Civil Union ceremony.
Steve Hay, a 40 year-old real estate agent, and his hairdresser partner of seven years, 31 year-old Glenn Lewis, are to marry in West Auckland tomorrow night. Paul Holmes and Alison Mau will be at this historic occasion bringing it live and exclusively to your living room.
