Willie Lose Moving Into The Driving Seat
The big frame of Willie Lose will slide into the presenter's seat on Radio Sport's drive-time slot from the beginning of May.
The former rugby international will take the place of Phil Gifford, who is giving up the weekday 4pm to 6pm programme in order to focus on a dedicated weekly Saturday-morning rugby programme on Radio Sport.
Willie Lose has been a regular stand-in host and match commentator on Radio Sport and NewstalkZB, both operated by The Radio Network.
Said Bill Francis, The Radio Network's head of talk programming: "Willie has developed very well as a programme presenter and now has his big opportunity to be a full-time radio host. Aside from his rugby background, he has a wide knowledge and interest in sport in general and, with his experience gained as a regular relief announcer, is well equipped for his new role."
Willie Lose is a former Tongan international forward and was also a North Harbour representative, as well as having played in Japan.
