Recognising sales and marketing people success
With over 130,000 people inNew Zealand listing their occupation as involved in the sales and marketing industry, the first national awards have been announced by the Sales & Marketing Institute of NZ.
"The importance of sales people who meet face-to-face, their managers who manage the team results, and the marketing managers who plan the strategies, is a vital driver in the New Zealand economy. It's time the successes of those people is recognised by their own peers." says Richard Gee, President of the Sales & Marketing Institute.
The Sales & Marketing Awards will recognise New Zealand's top products salesperson, top service salesperson, top corporate sales manager, and top sales manager of a small to medium enterprise, as well as, on the marketing side, having awards for the corporate marketing manager of the year, the marketing manager of the year for a small to medium enterprise, entrepreneur marketing manager, and channel marketing manager. Plus, it will give the opportunity for individuals to be recognised for the contributions they've made to their customer base or target market segment.
Winners will receive recognition for their efforts, finalist certificates, a plaque award at a special award function to be held on 15th July at the Spencer on Byron in Takapuna, Auckland, and special sponsors' prize packages (each valued at over $1,000). There is also a supreme award winner, who will receive a trip to the United States to attend an American Marketing Association conference.
These awards are unique because they cover all industries, they're not specific to a particular segment, and most importantly, they allow for the recognition of the people who contributed to the award, not necessarily the companies or the size of the campaign budgets.
Entry conditions include not only the person nominated communicating as to why they have been successful, but it also includes a very important element - that of the customer, who gives a testimonial, and also the company supporting the person gives a testimonial, so we get a true circle of influence.
The Sales & Marketing Institute is a national organisation of professionals who practise sales, sales management, marketing, and management of sales and marketing people and budgets. It was established in New Zealand in 1947.
