NELT receives a community loan of $100,000

NELT receives a community loan of $100,000 from the Canterbury Community Trust
The manager of the Nelson Enterprise Loan Trust Bruce Dyer, says that at its last meeting, NELT’s trustees approved loans of $52,000 including loans to the Madcat Fashions and Magnet Fashion House and to Willow Florists that has just opened in Halifax Street.
To assist in meeting the continuing demand for loans, the Canterbury Community Trust has agreed to making NELT a low interest community loan of $100,000.
Notwithstanding Canterbury Community Trust’s support, NELT is keen to attract more investment from people willing to support ethical enterprises in the region.
The Nelson Enterprise Loan Trust was launched in December 1997, since when it has made 83 loans valued at more than $535,000 to small businesses in the Nelson region. Of these only one loan (of $5,000) has failed.
