Task force pleased with responses
The Financial Intermediaries Task Force today said it had received over 250 responses to its questionnaire and over 75 responses to its issues paper.
Task force chair Michael Webb said the task force was very pleased with the number and detail of the responses they have received and wanted to thank the many people who had taken the time and effort to tell the task force their views and experiences.
“We’ve received responses from both the industry and consumers that are all providing us with very useful information and ideas,” said Mr Webb.
“What we’re doing now is analysing that information to help us identify what the key issues are.
“We’ll then look at what options there might be to address those issues and set these out, along with the issues we’ve identified, in an options paper. We’re planning to then ask for people’s feedback on that.
The task force was established at the end of last year to look at how the regulation of New Zealand’s financial advisers and marketers measures up. It released an issues paper and a questionnaire seeking feedback over summer and is due to report back in the middle of this year.
The task force plans to publish summaries of the responses in the near future.
